A ball is thrown at a speed of 20 m/s at an angle of `30 ^@` with the horizontal . The maximum height reached by the ball is
(Use `g=10 m//s^2`)

A

2m

B

3m

C

4m

D

5m

The correct Answer is:
D

Given ,
speed of ball (u ) = 20 m/s
Angle `( theta ) = 30 ^@`
we know that ,
` H= ( u^2 sin ^2 theta )/(2 g)`
` H= ((20) ^2 ( sin 30 )^2 )/( 2xx 10 )`
` implies H = ( 20xx20 xx((1)/(2))^2)/(20)`
` H= 20 xx 1/4`
`implies H=5m`
