Let the time taken by Mahim to clean out the garden be x hours.
`:.` Time taken by Majid= (x+3) hrs.
Now, in 2 hrs. Mahim works `(2)/(x)` part of the work and in 2 hrs. Majid works `(2)/(x+3)` part of the work. As per question, `(2)/(x)+(2)/(x+3)=1" "[:'` complete work =1]
or, `2((1)/(x)+(1)/(x+3))=1`
or, `2{(x+3+x)/(x(x+3))}=1`
or, `2{(2x+3)/(x^(2)+3x)}=1or,(4x+6)/(x^(2)+3x)=1`
or, `x^(2)+3x=4x+6`
or, `x^(2)-x-6=0`
Hence the required quadratic equation is `x^(2)-x-6=0`
