An aqueous dilute solution containing non-volatile solute boils at `100.052^(@)C`. What is the molality of solution? (`K_(b) - 0.52 kg.mol^(-1)K`, boiling temperature of water = `100^(@)C`)

A

0.1m

B

0.01m

C

0.001m

D

1.0m

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
(a)

According to Elevation of boiling point `(delta_(b))` = `K_(b)m`
i.e, `T_(b)-T_(b)^(0)` = `K_(b)m`
`100.052 - 100 =0.52-100 `= `0.52xxm` = `M=(0.052)/(0.52)=0.1`.
