Given ,
Volume of vessel = 1L
Number of moles of methane =10
Number of moles of `O_2` =50
When vessel is heated , combustion reaction occurs .
`CH_4 + 2O_2 to CO_2 + 2H_2O`
1 mole of `CH_4` reacts with 2 moles of `O_2` to make 1 mole of `CO_2` and 2 moles of `H_2O`
Thus, number of moles of `O_2, H_2O , CO_2` must be in 2:2:1 proportion respectively.
Initial moles are
`CH_4-10`
`2O_2 - 50`
Final moles are ,
`CH_4-0`
`2O_2 - 50-20=30`
`CO_2-10`
`2H_2O -20`
`therefore` Number of moles of `O_2-30`
Number of moles of `H_2O - 20`
Number of moles of `CO_2 -10`
