Two solid spheres A and B each of radius R are made of materials of densities `P_(A) ` and `P_(B)` respectively. Their moments of inertia about a diameter are `I_(A)`and `I_(B)` respectively. The value of `I_(A)//I_(B)`is

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
(c)

Monent of inertia,
= `(2)/(5)MR^(2)`
`( I_(A))/(I_(B))=((2)/(5)M_(A)R^(2))/((2)/(5)M_(B)R^(2))`
= `((4)/(3)piR^(3)P_(A))/(3piR^(3)P_(B))` ` (because M=(4)/(3)piR^(3))`
Therefore `(I_(A))/(I_(B))=p_(A)/(P_(B)`
