1 mol of an ideal gas is freely expanded...

1 mol of an ideal gas is freely expanded at constant temperature. In this process, which of the quantity or quantities among w,q, `DeltaU,DeltaH` are 0 or >0 or <0?

During the isothermal free expansion of a gas the work doen is zero. So w=0. again internal energy and enthalpy remain the same during the isothermal expansion of an ideal gas. Therefore, `DeltaU=0 and DeltaH=0`. According to the first law of thermodynamics, `DeltaU=q+w.` for the given process `DeltaU=0 and w=0`
Therefore, `q=0`. thus, for isothermal free expansion of 1 mol of an ideal gas q=0, w=0, `DeltaU=0, DeltaH=0`.
