Give reasons
Conc. `HNO_3` can be transported in aluminium container.

Text Solution

When Al reacts with conc. `HNO_3`, a very thin film of aluminium oxide `(Al_2O_3)` is formed on its surface. This oxide layer protects Al from further reaction and hence aluminium container can be used to transport conc. `HNO_3`
`2Al(s) + 6HNO_3(conc.)to Al_2 O_3(s) + 6NO_2(g) + 3H_2O(l)`
