What are pesticides and herbicides? Explain giving examples.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Herbicides: These are the chemicals employed to control weeds. The common herbicides are sodium chlorate `(NaClO_(3))` and sodium arsenite `(Na_(3)AsO_(3))`. These herbicides are no longer preferred because they are toxic towards mammals. Al present organic herbicides like trazines are used as weeds controller and have no adverse effect on human beings.
