The unit of rate constant of a reaction ...

The unit of rate constant of a reaction is `("mol")^(-x).(dm)^(3x).s^(-1)` Find the value of x if the order of the reaction is `(3)/(2)` .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Unit of rate constant = `("mol.dm"^(-3))^(1-n).s^(-1)`
If `n=(3)/(2)` , then , unit of rate constant
`=("mol.dm"^(-3))^(1-(3)/(2)).s^(-1)="mol"^(-(1)/(2)).dm^((3)/(2)).s^(-1)`
So, `x=(1)/(2)`
