For calculating activation energy `(E_(a))` of a reaction where rate constants at two different temperatures are given , we use the relation `log.(k_(2))/(k_(1))=(E_(a))/(2.303R)((T_(2)-T_(1))/(T_(1)T_(2)))`
Given: `k_(2)=10k_(1),T_(1)=300K and T_(2)=310K`.
Substituting these values into the above equation gives
`log10=(E)/(2.303R)((310-300)/(310xx300))`
or, `E_(a)=178.06"kJ.mol"^(-1)`
