At what temperature (T) will the rate constant (k) and the frequency factor (A) of a reaction be the same?

Text Solution

According to the Arrhenius equation, `k=Ae^(-E_(a)//RT)` , where k , A and `E_(a)` are the rate constant the frequency coefficient and the energy of activation , respectively.
If `k=A, " then "k=k" "e^(-E_(a)//RT)`
or, `e^(-E_(a)//RT)=1=e^(0) " or, "E_(a)//RT=0`
But `E_(a)ne0,thereforeE_(a)//RT-0 " if "Trarroo.`
Hence , at a very high temperature `(Trarroo)` , the value of rate constant (k) approaches the value of the frequency factor (A).
