`aA+bBrarr` Product, The experimental rate law of the give reaction is: rate `=k[A]^(2)[B]` If concentration of A is halved and B is doubled, then what will be the effect on rate constant ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Assume that the initial concentration of A and B are x and y `"mol.L"^(-1)` respectively . If the rate of reaction at the given initial concentration = r , then at initial concentrations `(x)/(2) and 2y"mol.L"^(-1)` , the rate of the reaction would be `(r)/(2)`
