`ArarrB+C` , the following records are obtained :
`{:(t(s),0,900,1800),([A](mol.L^(-1)),50.8,19.7,7.62):}`
Show that the reaction follows the rate law of first order reaction .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`k=(2.303)/(t)log.([A]_(0))/([A])`
`k = (2.303)/(900)log.(50.8)/(19.7)=1.052xx10^(-3)"min"^(-1)`
`k = (2.303)/(1800)log.(50.8)/(7.62)=1.054xx10^(-3)"min"^(-1)`
As the value of k obtained from integrated rate law of the first order reaction is almost same , the reaction follows the first order kinetics.
