These observations suggest that the substance (A) is sulphur (S), the gas (B) is nitrogen dioxide `(NO_(2))` , compound (C) is sodium thiosulphute `(Na_(2)S_(2)O_(3))` and the gase (D) is sulphur dioxide `(SO_(2))` . The reaction are as follows :
`Na_(2)S_(2)O_(3)(C) + H_(2)SO_(4) to Na_(2)SO_(4) + SO_(3)(D) + S+underset("(turbidity)")(H_(2)O) S+O_(2) to SO_(2)`

Nitrogen gas reacts with metal A at room temperature to form white solid B. B on reaction with pungent smell of gas C along with the formation of D. D is used as antacid. C reacts with HCl to give white precipitate of E. Find A to E and write balanced chemical equations.

An aqueous solution of a gas 'A ' gives the following reactions along with same observations: When H_(2)S is passed through the solution, it becomes turbid. Identify the gas 'A' , and give equation of the reaction involved in each case.

When a substance A reacts with water, it produces a combustible gas B and a solution of substance C in water. D reacts with this solution of C and produces the same gas B on warming. D can also produce gas B on reaction with dilute H_2SO_4 . A imparts a deep golden yellow colour to smokeless flame. A, B, C and D respectively are

An organic compound A gives positive test with Tollen's reagent, on treatment with amonia form B which is an eye medicine. A on treatment with concenteated KOH forms C and D. C is on oxidation forms A agains. D on acidification responds to Tollen's Test. A comines with CH_3Mgl followed by hydrolysis forms E, which on oxidation followed by decarboxylation forms methane. Identify A to E (only structure).

When chromite ore FeCr_(2)O_(4) is fused with NaOH in presence of air, a yellow coloured compound (A) is obtained which on acidification with dilute sulphuric acid gives compound (B). Compound (B) on reaction with KCl forms an orange colured crystalline compound (C ). Write one use of compound (C ).

When a chromite ore (A) is fused with sodium carbonate in free excess of air and the product is dissolved in water, yellow solution of a compound (B) is obtained. After treatment of this yellow solution with sulphuric acid, compound (C ) can be crystallised from the solution.
