A liquid A is treated with `Na_(2)CO_(3)` solution. A mixture of two salts B and C are produced in the solution. The mixture on acidification with `H_(2)SO_(4)` and distillation produces the liquid A again. Identify A, B and C and write the equations involved.

The liquid A is bromine. When bromine is treated with `Na_(2)CO_(3)` solution, a mixture of NaBr and `NaBrO_(3)` (sodium bromate) is obtained. When the mixture fs distilled with conc. `H_(2)SO_(4)` , bromine is regenerated. The reactions involved are:
`3Br_(2)+3Na_(2)CO_(3)to5NaBr+NBrO_(3)+3CO_(2)`
`5NaBr+NaBrO_(3)+3H_(2)SO_(4)to3Na_(2)SO_(4)+3Br_(2)+2H_(2)O`
