Why is nitric oxide paramagnetic in gaseous state but the solid obtained on coollng it is diamagnetic?

In gaseous state `NO_(3)` exist as monomer which has one unparied electron but in solid state it dimerises to `N_(2)O_(4)`, so no unparied electron is left. Hence, soild form is diamagnetic .
