In the spectrochemical series lignads are placed in the sequence : `Cl^(-) lt NH_(3) lt CN^(-)`. So the value of crystal field splitting energy `(Delta_(o))` will also be in the same order i.e., `[Cr(Cl)_(6)]^(3-) lt [Cr(NH_(3))_(6)]^(3+) lt [Cr(CN)_(6)]^(3-)`.
