Why are tyres of automobiles inflated to lesser pressure in summmer than in water ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The pressure of the air is directly proportional to the temperature. Since the temperature is higher in summer than in winter. the pressure of the air in the tube of the tyre is likely to tbe quite high as compared to winter. It is quite likely that the tube may burst under high pressure in summer. Therefore, its is advisable to inflate the tyres to lesser pressure in summer than in winter.
