Dissolved oxygen in wate is very important for aquatic life. What process are responsible for the reduction of dissolved oxygen in water ?

Text Solution

If water contains excess of organic matter or organic waste, then aerobic bacteria degrede this organic matter. But they need oxygen for this purpose. Therefore, the amount of oxygen dissolved in water is likely to decrease and cause problems for fish and other animals who live under water.
