Oxygen is needed for the various biological activities that are taking place in the troposphere. Ozone present in the stratosphere absorbs U.V. rediations emitted from sun and does not allow them to react our planet i.e., earth. In case, they do so, they are likely to create havoc resulting in large number of diseases.
