Differentiate between the following pairs of polymers based on the property mentioned against each :
(i) Novolac and Bakelite (Structure)
(ii) Buna-S and Terylen (Intermolecular forces).

(i) Novaloc is a linear polymer while bakelite is highly cross-linked polymer. The monomer units in both of them are phenol and formaldehyde. For details, consult section 6
(ii) Buna-S is an elastomer in which attractive forces are quite weak. Terylene is a fibre with strong intermolecular attractive forces present. For details, consult section 7
