In a b.c.c. structure C.N. (Every atoms touches 8 other atoms, 4 in a layer below it and 4 in a layer above it )
However, there are 6 other atoms (in six adjacent cubic sites) which are only slightly away from it. Thus , these 6 atoms are the next nearest neighbours.
