What will happen if we keep a piece of ice at moon? Explain.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The boiling point of water is 100°C at 76cm of Hg (1atm). At the moon atmospheric pressure is extremely low nearly 0.01 cm of Hg. At such pressure, the boiling point will reach less than 0°C. It means ice straight away will convert into vapours.
