In the Solvay process, can we obtain sodium carbonate directly by treating the solution containing `(NH_(4))_(2)CO_(3)` with sodium chloride? Explain.

No, `(NH_(4))_(2)CO_(3)` reacts with `NaCI` as
`(NH_(4))_(2)CO_(3)+2NaCI hArr Na_(2)CO_(3)+2NH_(4)CI`
Because the products obtained `Na_(2)CO_(3)` and `NH_(4)CI` are highly soluble and the equilibrium will not shift in forward direction. That's why in the solvay process, we cannot obtain sodium carbonate directly by treating the solution containing `(NH_(4))_(2)CO_(3)` with sodium chloride.
