The equivalent circuit can be drawn as `6Omega and `2Omega` are in parallel.

`R'=(2 times 6)/8=1.5 Omega`
As `1.5 Omega and 1.5 Omega` are in series
`R''=1.5+1.5=2 Omega`
As `3 Omega and 3 Omega`
`R_(eq)=(3 times 3)/6=1.5 Omega`
Hence current supplied by the battery is
`I=V/R_(eq)=6/1.5=4A`
