How does a gap junctions facilitate intercellular communication ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

gap junctions facilitate intercellular communication buy allopwing small signaling molecules to pass from cell to cell , these are fine hyrophilic channels between two adjacent animal cells that are formed with the help of two proteins cylinders called connexus .
Each connexus consists of six proteins subunits that surroud a hydrophilic channel pH and `Ca^(2+)` ion cencentration controls opening or classing of channels .
