The following observations have been arranged in ascending order. If the median of the data is 63, find the value of `x :` `29 ,32 ,48 ,50 ,` `x ,x+2,72 ,78 ,84 ,95`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Total observations `=10` (even)
Median `= (10)/(2)=5^(th)& (10)/(2) + 1` `=6^(th)` observations
Median `= (5^(th) + 6^(th))/2` observations
`63=(x+x+2)/2`
`=>x+1=63`
`=>x=62`
So, the answer is`62`
