A car travels 1 kilometre distance in which each wheel makes 450 complete revolutions. Find the radius of the its wheels.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Total distance covered in 450 revolutions = 1 km = 100000 cm
Number of complete revolutions a wheel makes = 450
In 1 revolution, distance covered by circular wheel = Circumference of circle = `2 pi r`
Distance covered by circular wheel in 450 revolutions = `2 pi r × 450`
`100000 = 2× pi × r× 450`
`100000 = 900 pi r`
`r = 100000/(900 pi)`
`r = 1000/ (9 × 22/7)`
