Let the speed of train be {x} {} {km} / {hr} and speed of taxi be {y} {km} / {hr}.
It is known that , Time` =frac{ { Distance }}{ { Speed }}`
`5 {hr} 30 minutes =5+frac{30}{60}=5+frac{1}{2}=frac{11}{2} {hrs}`
`5 {hr} 36 minutes =5+frac{36}{60}=5+frac{6}{10}=frac{28}{5} {hrs}`
From the given information, we have,
`frac{300}{x}+frac{200}{y}=frac{11}{2} and frac{260}{x}+frac{240}{y}=frac{28}{5}`
Putting `frac{1}{{x}}={p} and frac{1}{{y}}={q}, `we have
