Solve the following quadratic equations ...

Solve the following quadratic equations by factorization method. `x^2+2sqrt(2)x-6=0`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`x^{2}+2 \sqrt{2} x-6=0`
`x^{2}+3 \sqrt{2} x-\sqrt{2} x-6=0`
`x(x+3 \sqrt{2})-\sqrt{2}(x 3 \sqrt{2})=0`
`(x+3 \sqrt{2})(x-\sqrt{2})=0`
Either `(x+3 \sqrt{2})=0`, then `x=-3 \sqrt{2}` or `x-\sqrt{2}=0`, then `x=\sqrt{2}`
`x=\sqrt{2} \text { or }-3 \sqrt{2}`
