Prove the following identities: tan...

Prove the following identities: `tan^2theta+cot^2theta+2=sec^2thetacos e c^2theta`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We have,
LHS=`tan^2 theta+cot^2 theta+2=(1+tan^2 theta)+(1+cot^2theta)`
`sec^2 theta+cosec^2 theta=1/cos^2 theta+1/sin^2 theta=(sin^2theta+cos^2theta)/(cos^2 thetasin^2theta)`
`1/(cos^2 theta sin^2 theta)=cosec^2 thetasec^2 theta`=RHS
