What are the major differences between metals and non-metals?

(1) Metals are usually solids at room temperature. Metals have high melting and boiling points. Metals are good conductors of heat and electricity. Metals are malleable and ductile.
(2) Non-metals are usually solids or gases at room termperature. Non-metals have low melting and boiling points. Non-metals are poor conductros of heat and electricity. most non metallic solids are brittle and are neither malleable nor ductile.
