Distillation : This process is useful for the purification of liquids contaminated with non - volatile impurities. The impure liquid is boiled in a distillation flask and the vapour are condensed and collected in a receiver. This method can alos be used to separate liquids which differ in their boiling points by about `40^(@)C`.
