Steam distillation : Liiquids immiscible with water and possessing high BP can be purified by steam distillation. In this method, steam is passed into the hot impure liquid. Steam mixed with volatile organic compound comes out. It passes through the condenser and collects in the receiver. The water layer and the organic layer are separated using a separating funnel.
