what are the advantages of tissue culture methods over conventional programmes ?

As traditional ( conventional ) breeding methods failled to keep pace with demand and to suffciently provide fast and efficient systems for crop improvement another techology called tissue developed .
the advantages of tissue culture over conventional breeding are as follows
(i) it can be used to produce large number of plantlets within a short perid by microproprogation .
(ii) All cells in the culture are dervied form a single explant by mitortic divsion , therefore all have the simlar genotype and constiitue a clone .
(iii) TOlerance to stress can be obtained by providing pollutants , toxins , salts etc. ., in culture meddium in increasing dosage ,The surviving cells are selected for raising resistant plants ,.
(iv) Virus free plantlets can be obtained by meristerm culture .
(v) Embryos which so not survive inside seeds can be grown by tissue culture to from new plants.
