An object of mass `2kg` is sliding with a constant velocity of `4ms^(-1)` on a frictionless horizontal table. The force required to keep the object moving with the same velocity is

A

32N

B

The correct Answer is:
B

Given, mass m=2kg. Velocity v=`4ms^(-1)` As the object is moving with a constant velocity i.e.a`4ms^(-1)` so the acceleration of the object is zero i.e. a=0 and accordingly to the property of inertia if there is no external force acting on the body, then body remains as it is i.e. if the body is at rest, remains and if it is motion remains in motion.
