the displacement versus time relation for a disturbance travelling with velocity of `1500 m//s`. Calculate the wavelength of the disturbance.
.

The correct Answer is:
`3xx10^(-3)m`

Given, velocity(v) `=1500 ms^(-1)`
Time taken in one complete cycle is `2 mus`.
Time, `" "t=2mus =2xx10^(-6) s" "(therefore 1 mus =10^(-6)s)`
We know that, `v=vlambda" "(because v=(1)/(T))`
So, `v=(lambda)/(T)implies lambda =vT`
where, `lambda` =wavelength, v=frequency
and `T`=time period
So, `lambda=1500xx2xx10^(-6)=300xx10^(-6)`
`=3xx10^(+3)xx10^(-6)=3000xx10^(-6)`
`=3xx10^(+3)xx10^(-6)=3xx10^(-3)m`
