The elements like carbon, nitrogen, sulphur, phosphorus, hydrogen and oxygen enter into living forms through plants. Most of these elements first enter plants and become components of their organic material during the process of photosynthesis. From plants, these elements pass on to other organisms through the food chain. e.g., Plant (grasses) is eaten by goats which are further consumed by man.
