Explain the role of the sun in the formation of soil.

The sun heats up rocks during the day, so they expands. At night, these rocks cool down and contract. Since, all the part of rock do not expand and contract at the same rate. (ultimately huge rocks break into smaller pieces). This results in the foration of soil.
