Which of the following would wight the highest?

A

0.2 moles of sucrose `(C_(12)H_(22)O_(11))`

B

2 moles of `CO_(2)`

C

0.2 moles of `CaCO_(3)`

D

The correct Answer is:
C

2 molels of `CaCO_(3)` would weigh of the compound.
a) `therefore` Mass of 1 mole of sucrose `(C_(12)H_(22)O_(11)) = (12 xx 12)+(1 xx 12) + (16 xx 11)=342 g`
`therefore` Mass of 0.2 mol of sucrose = `342 xx 0.2 =68.4`g
b) `therefore` Mass of 1 mole of `CO_(2)` =`12 + (16 xx2)=44g`
`therefore` Mass of 2 moles of `CO_(2)=44 xx 2=88g`
c) `therefore` Mass of 1 mole of `CaCO_(3)= 40 +12 + (16 xx3)=100`g
`therefore` Mass of 2 mole of `CaCO_(3) = 100 xx 2=200g`
d) `therefore` Mass of 1 mole of `H_(2)O=2+16=18g`
`therefore` Mass of 10 moles of `H_(2)O=18 xx 10 = 180g`.
Therefore, mass of 2 moles of `CaCO_(3)` is the highest, i.e. 200g.
