A process is occurring throughout the day, in 'X' organis. Cells are participating in this process. During this process ATP, `CO_(2)` and water are evolved. It is not a light dependent process.
(a) Name the process
(b) Is it a catabolic or an anabolic process ?
( c) What could be the raw material of this process ?

Text Solution

(a) The name of the proces is cellular respiration.
(b)It is a catabolic process which involves break down of glucose molecule.
`underset("Cabohydrate ")(C_(6)H_(12)O_(6))+ underset("oxygen ")(6O_(2)) to underset("carbon dioxide")(6CO_(2))+ underset("water")(6H_(2)O)+underset("(ATP)")("Energy")`
( c) Raw material for this process is glucose molecule and oxygen, which are products of phtosynthesis, occuring in plants.
