Tomatoes, carrot and chillies are red in colour due to the presence of one pigment. Name the pigment. Is it a photosynthetic pigments ?

The different colours other than green are present in the plant because of present of chromoplasts. It is a kind of plastid and develop different coloured pigments which are not photosynthetic. Pigment lycopene present in tomato, carrot and chillies, imparts red colour to them.
