What is a clone? Why do offsprings formed by asexual reproduction exhibit remarkable similarity?

Clones are theoffsprings produced by one parent through asexual reproduction. These genetically identical to the parent. The clones possess exact copies of the DNA of their parent and hence show remarkable similarity to the parent and to one another.
