A pencil when dipped in water in a glass tumbler appears to be bent at the interface of air and water. Will the pencil appear to be bent to the same extent, if instead of water we use liquids like, kerosene or turpentine. Support your answer with reason.

A pencil partly immersed in water in a glass tumbler, it appears to be displaced at the interface of air and water. The light reaching out from the protion of the pencil inside water seems to come from a different direction, compared to the part above water due to refraction of light.
The pencil appear to be bent to the different extent, if instead of water, liquids like, kerosene or turpentine are used as their refractive incices are different which in turn produces deviation from incident ray by different extent.
