Why does copper not replace hydrogen from acids?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Copper not replace hydrogen from acids because `Cu` has positive `E^(@)` value, i.e., less reactive than hydrogen which has electrode potential `0.0` V. So `Cu` cannot replaced hydrogen from acids.
