A and B are two events such that P(A)!=0...

`A` and `B` are two events such that `P(A)!=0.` Find `P(B|A)` , if
(i) `A` is a subset of `B`
(ii) `AnnB=0`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We know that,
`P(B/A)=frac{P(AnnB)}{P(A)}`
(i) `AnnB=A implies P(AnnB)=P(A)`
`P(B/A)=frac{P(A)}{P(A)}=1`
`P(B/A)=1`

(ii) `AnnB=0 implies P(AnnB)=0`
`P(B/A)=frac{0}{P(A)}=0`
`P(B/A)=0`
