The Cartesian equations of a line are `x=a y+b ,z=c y+ddot` Find its direction ratios and reduce it to vector form.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The cartesian equation of the line can be written as

` frac{{x}-{b}}{{a}}=frac{{y}-0}{1}=frac{{z}-{d}}{{c}}`

because the coefficients of x, y, z must be 1

` Therefore the direction ratios of the above line are

` frac{x-b}{a}=frac{y-0}{1}`

` ...
