Find the length of the longest road that can be placed in a room of dimensions`(10m xx 10m xx 5m)`

A

15 m

B

16 m

C

10 m

D

12 m

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

Given , dimensions of a room , l = 10 m, = 10 m, h = 5m
`therefore` Length of the longest pole = Diagonal of a cuboid (room)
`sqrt(l^(2) + b^(2) +h^(2))`
`= sqrt((10)^(2)+(10)^(2) + (5)^(5))`
`= sqrt(100+100+25)`
`= sqrt(225)= 15m`
Hence the lenght of the longest pole is 15m.
