The volume of the lergest right cicru...

The volume of the lergest right cicrular cone that can be fitted in a cube whose edge is 2r equals to the volume of a hemisphere radius r.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

True
Given, edge of cube = 2r, then height of cube becomes h = 2r.
Volume of a cone `= (1)/(3) pir^(2)h =(1)/(3)pir^(2)(2r) = (2)/(3) pir^(3)`
Volume of a hemisphere `= (2)/(3) pir^(3)`
Hence, the volume of a cone is equal to the volume of the volume of a hemisphere.
