If the radius of a cylinder is doubled and height is halved, the volume will be doubled.

Text Solution

True
Let the radius of a cylinder be r and height be h.
Then ,Volume of a cylinder, ` V_(1) = pi r^(2)h`
If radius of a cylinder , `R = 2r`
and height of a cylinder, `H =(h)/(2)`
`therefore` Volume of cylinder, `V_(2) = pi (2r)^(2) (h)/(2)`
`" "= 2pir^(2) h = 2 xx V_(1)`
Hence, if the radius of a cylinder is doubled is and height of a cylinder is halved, then volume of a cylinder is doubled.
